SB Morgen report: ‘985 security personnel killed in Nigeria in one year’

A report by SB Morgen Intelligence says 966 Nigerian security personnel have been killed in one year.


The agency released the report on Thursday, after compiling classified data of attacks on security forces from October 2020 to September 2021.
The report describes the definition of war as any conflict in which at least 1,000 people are killed. “Because of this we can say that Nigeria is at war,” the report said.


There has been no immediate response from Nigerian security agencies to the report.

According to SB Morgan statistics, 642 soldiers and 322 police officers have been killed in attacks by security forces over the past 12 months.


Eleven Civil Defense officers, five Customs officers, two DSS officers, two immigration officers and one accident officer were also killed.
The report also said that I had killed at least 1,989 militants, while 973 Boko Haram militants had been killed and 290 members of the extremist group.


A total of 129 people were killed, including 100 militants and 100 Biafran militants, 99 armed robbers and kidnappers for ransom.


But the report did not focus on the number of civilians killed. The company said it was focusing on victims of direct conflict with security forces.
The report also said its figures do not apply to people killed in attacks involving terrorists or gunmen.
