Shehu Sani explains what Buhari needs to do before retiring to Kaduna.

Sen. Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker and socio-political activist, has decried the recent spate of bandit killings in Kaduna State.

Sani, who noted that bandit terrorists killed at least 1,192 people across the state last year, said President Muhammadu Buhari must first secure the state if he actually intends to retire there at the end of his term.

According to Arewakallo News, the lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th national assembly stated that the number of individuals slain and kidnapped in Kaduna by bandits outnumbered those killed and kidnapped in Yemen and Libya.

“That bandits killed 1,192 and kidnapped over three thousand in Kaduna last year alone, exceeded the number of people slain and abducted in Yemen and Libya,” the former Senator stated in a tweet on Thursday.

“If the president wants to retire and settle in this state, he must first secure it.”

President Muhammadu Buhari would retire to Kaduna State after his term ends in 2023, according to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who stated this in December last year.

After a meeting with Nigeria’s president, el-Rufai told State House Correspondents that the president spent much of his life in Kaduna.

Despite coming from Daura in Katsina State, the governor claims that this makes Buhari a Kaduna citizen.

El-Rufai stated that President Muhammadu Buhari has been asked to travel to the state and commission various projects, expressing his hope that Buhari will be pleased with his accomplishments.

“Mr President has been invited to come commission some of our projects,” he explained. He’ll be in Kaduna for two or three days, commissioning projects in Kafanchan, Kaduna, and Zaria.

“As you are aware, the President is a Kaduna native. He is from Katsina state, however he has lived the majority of his life in Kaduna. He’s also relocating to Kaduna.

“We hope he would be pleased with what we have accomplished and proud of what we have accomplished as an APC government, and we appreciate all of his support in enabling us to do so.”

According to Arewakallo News, Kaduna State is one of the states that has seen a significant degree of banditry activity.
